DEPARTMENT OF ZOOLOGY

The Department of Zoology, Khadir Mohideen College (Affiliated to Bharathidasan University), Adirampattinam-614701, Thanjavur District, Tamil Nadu, India was established during the Academic year of 1955-56 as Life Sciences. The main objective of the department is to improve the quality of education and experimental study among the students in the delta and littoral districts such as Thanjavur, Nagapattinam, Thiruvarur, Ramnadu and Pudukkottai. Almost all the students are poor with minimum marks and are coming from backward areas, villages and from fisherman communities inhabiting in and around delta and coastal areas. Our department has been providing ample opportunities to the students especially from other states like Kerala ever since its inception. Our department has produced more than 50 batches of graduates with excellent results so far. B.Sc. Zoology was introduced in 1965 and M.Sc. Zoology was introduced in 1988. During the academic year 2004-2006, our department was promoted as a research department offering M.Phil. and Ph.D. Research Programmes in Zoology. 

The following faculty of our Department contributed their notes, books, powerpoint articles, research papers and thesis to the students for the preparation of notes for their higher studies and scholars for the preparation of power point articles, research papers and thesis.
